In this world of first impressions, the first date will likely set the tone for your compatibility.
The first date can usually determine if there will be a second date or not. So making a great first impression is critical if you would like to see that person again. How you dress, how you talk, how you communicate is all important. Did I mention how you dress will increase the chances for a second date.
What to wear on a first date actually matters a whole lot—more than any of us probably want to admit. Dates are one of the few things in life you can actually prepare for. My biggest fear was always choosing the right shoes to wear.
Always check on the venue before hand to know the dress code. Whether casual or sophisticated, knowing how to dress at the restaurant or venue can spark ideas on what to wear.
Wear something fresh, brand new or close to brand new. Never pick your favorite pair of jeans or shoes knowing they have wear and tear.
Pick an outfit you feel comfortable wearing. The worst thing you want is to be constantly thinking “Does this look right” or “Do this dress hug my butt too much” or “Do my feet look long in these shoes.” Once you purchase your outfit, try it on at home for your girlfriend, mom, friend, or whomever to get opinions.
Don’t show too much skin! Being Natural and minimal is always best for the first date as your want a natural reaction to your beauty. So go light on the makeup, don’t over do it.
Adjust yourself sometime in the middle of the date. Simply, make a trip to the ladies room to check your makeup. Check your outfit, hair, skin, etc to make sure your just a beautiful as you were when the date started.
Do not choose an outfit that makes you feel like you have to suck it in. Why wear an outfit that’s too tight and you have to walk like the ‘Tin Man’ the entire date. He asks to dance and you decline because you might split your dress. Wow, please don’t do it.
Stand out for the occasion by wearing a statement piece of jewelry or some sort of accessory that will be a conversation starter.
If it’s a casual dinner, some cute jeans and a cute blouse or sexy tee can be a great fit. Most importantly, you won’t be over doing it.
Be confident whatever you decide to wear. Keep your head high and swag on special. Remember most of all a person’s attitude and persona means a lot.
